The real reason TaterTown exists is so that my boys have a place to go to see their childhood. No ifs, ands, or buts. I loved my childhood and have so many memories of joy, exploration, and learning. I wish that the technology existed then for my mother to do this for me. Its a gift to Connor and Palmer, the women they will marry, and the children they will bear.
I started TaterTown in 2008 when Connor was already 5 years old. Yesterday he had me telling him a story about when I was a teenager. At the same time, we're hauling out all of the Christmas decorations and I went through one of the boxes of old photo albums and scrapbooks. I realized two things: 1) all that stuff needs to be digitized and, 2) There's a whole lot to catch up on
This will not be a chronological recording. That would bore me and make me feel to restricted. It will be a jumbled pile of things from Bob's and my childhood, the years before we had children, and a chance to catch up on the first 5 years of Connor's life that do not appear in TaterTown. I'll try to be careful with labels so that the reader can sort to suit their needs.
